ASUS hints at next-generation Transformer in brief teaser video

ASUS has just posted a new video teaser for what appears to be a next-generation Eee Pad Transformer. Titled "The next Transformation," the clip is pretty light on details, though the mysterious device does make a brief appearance toward the end, sporting a design similar to what we saw last week, with ASUS' Zenbook lineup. No word yet on whether the forthcoming Transformer will be powered by NVIDIA's quad-core Kal El, as rumored, but you can see the teaser for yourself after the break.

AMD Demonstrates 28nm graphics processor

At Fusion 2011, AMD officially demonstrated its next generation graphics processor, based on the cutting-edge 28nm process technology. AMD used a notebook computer to showcase graphics prowess of its 28nm chip. The notebook played Bioware’s Dragon Age 2 without any problem. “AMD strives to be at the forefront of every key inflection point in graphics technology, as demonstrated by our leadership in everything from process node transitions, to adoption of the latest graphics memory,” said Skynner. “Our pace-setting transition to the 28nm process node, coupled with new innovations in our underlying graphics architecture, is already generating excitement among the ODM community here in Taipei this week.”

No word on name or specification of that 28nm graphics chip.

Fujitsu LifeBook SH76/E ultra-thin laptop launched

Fujitsu has announced an ultra-thin laptop in the Japanese market -- the LifeBook SH76/E. Fujitsu claims that it is world's slimmest notebook to feature an integrated optical drive. It measure only 16.6mm thick and weighs 1.34Kg. Powered by Core i5-2520M (2.50GHz) or Core i7 processor, the notebook offers 4GB DDR3 memory, 128GB/256GB SSD, 13.3-inch widescreen HD display (1366*768 pixels) and integrated DVD burner or Blu-ray drive.

Other features include Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, card reader, USB, and webcam.

Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium.

The Fujitsu LifeBook SH76/E will be available in Japanese market from October 21.
