Hello my old friend Widowmaker! It has been many years since i've talked with you and I hope you and your family are doing fine. Send me an email so we can catch-up and help me get MechWarrior running on my machine. I look forward to hearing from you again!
With best regards,
Arabe

Hey Bro' !

I have all the original CDs to MW but, I have not attempted to load the game on my computer until a did a little research to know what I should expect and/or avoid doing.

Info. about my PC
- OS: Vista Home Premium (64 bit), SP2
- System: DELL XPS 435MT
- Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 940 @ 2.93GHz
- RAM: 6 GB

I Googled to see what info was out there on Vista 64 and MW and found tons of stuff out there but was not reliable sure which references are reliable. TSWN is the site I can always trust for clear, complete, and comprehensive answers and guidance.

Thanks for your help Tim!
your friend,
'D'

D! I thought that was you! It's great to hear from you again! I got your email and will give you a buzz later today. As far as the game itself goes, what exactly is it "NOT" doing LOL!

Things are really going well. I changed careers and went strictly to the IT field. I am now the IT supervisor in the city where I work. I currently manage around 130+ computers and servers. Still writing code all the time, even more-so now than before. I STILL have the Mechwarrior software that I wrote a while back. I don't host the site at my house any more, as the energy cost got too much. I went through a couple different hosts and found this one. The last host that I was on, got hacked and they terminated my account. I ended up losing over 2 years of data when they did that. They didn't offer any sort of data retrieval, luckily I still had all of my data on my servers there at the house. I decided to start fresh with TSWN and slowly get the members back again. This time maybe focusing on the PS3 and the 360 as much as the PC gaming side.

Man its great to hear from you again.

LOL!!! I thought I noticed a little hesitation from you when you first replied.

Man! its good to hear from you also!!

Oh, and I see you have not lost the 'ole technical support wit! LOL!!

'As far as the game itself goes, what exactly is it "NOT" doing LOL!'

Well, I guess I can't really answer that until I actually try to install it..is that what you're trying to get across to me? ;)

Regarding the career change to IT, I think you answered your calling man. This was always the type of work you didn't mind losing sleep over. Great move man!!
I noticed you had Console gaming on TSWN! It has certainly come a long way in just a few years. I’m definitely impressed with how quickly it took-off in sophistication and popularity.

Oh! and how's my old buddy Graywolf doing? Send him my regards!

Well Bro', like I said in my email, I'm just trying to return to the things I enjoyed most so I thought I would start with a game I'm familiar with and don't need a 3 credit course to play. That is unless you can recommend something I should try. What are you playing nowadays?

HAHAHAH! Yeah, I think changing careers was the best thing I could have done. Graywolf now calls himself, Remotewarrior. I don't see him much on the computer much any more, but I do play online with him on the XBOX 360 some.

Right now the biggest game that I have been playing has been Modern Warfare 2. (Call of Duty). Awesome game, but not much strategy to it, as the maps are too small. I still have the same computer I built going on 7 years ago. HAHAHA! I figure its time to build another one.

As far as Mechwarrior goes, I'd go ahead and try it to see if it will install. Let me know what happens good or bad. I seriously doubt much will go wrong, but not having Vista on any of my machines pretty much limits my response somewhat until I get some intel on how the install went.

I don't know if you have an XBox or not, but if you do, my Gamertag is BOAWidowmaker.

Talk to ya later man!

Tim

Wow!! I remember when you built that machine. Man, you sure did a great job if it is still working for ya. We definitely have to catch-up! I'm currently in the airport headed to Salina, KS to give a presentation to a customer. Send me your phone number so I can call you during the weekend sometime. Let me know if you have a specific day/time that works best for you to chat.
Later man!

Sweet man! I will be in Salina next weekend for a Christmas party. I will send you my phone number so that we can catch up. Yeah, I've replaced a few parts on the computer. Up'd the ram some, changed out the video card and got a new monitor. Other than that, Its the same thing. Same motherboard, same cdrom drives etc.... Not too shabby for 7 years strong. I will send you my contact info to your inbox on this site. I've got a show to play on Saturday, so I will be out of pocket all day. Sunday will be great, but after noon or so, because we typically get in and to bed around 5 or so in the am after a show.

Laters man!

Tim
