PlayStation Portable titles aside, Zipper Interactive hasn't released a SOCOM game in five years. That will change in April when SOCOM 4 finally hits retail shelves.

Via the official PlayStation blog, Zipper community manager Jeremy Dunham announced SOCOM 4 will launch on April 19 in North America.

LittleBigPlanet 2 brings Sackboy back to your living room on January 18. But if you can't wait that long to get your LBP on, Sony has some good news: Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves, a new digital multiplayer co-op adventure designed for PlayStation Move, will be ready for download on December 14.

SCEA PR Manager Eric Levine unveiled the game on the official PlayStation Blog this afternoon, describing Prehistoric Moves as a showcase for "all of the fun that can be had when Sackboy gets his hands on the PlayStation Move motion controller."

"The player with the PlayStation Move controller leads the charge, flicking switches and triggering platforms to help the other players, using DualShock Controllers, through each level," Levine stated. "Leap between dino heads, use the Move controller to blast aside crates of bubbles, ride dinosaurs through prehistoric cities, and take to the heights of tree canopies -- then team up to defeat Big Rex, all while collecting Trophies along the way."

The digital game will feature 10 levels and allow up to four players (one must be using a Move controller) to venture through the Sackboy version of the Jurassic Age. Sony noted that the co-op play is offline only.

Sackboy's Prehistoric Adventure will be free to all PlayStation Plus subscribers (and be available a week early on December 7), sell for $5 to standard PSN members, and also be included in the LBP2 full retail game.

Speaking of LBP2, Sony also announced that a demo of the anticipated game's story and create modes will be available to all on December 21.
